  10.        This chapter describes the known problems with the 6.5
  11.        sysadmdesktop.

  13.        4.1  _C_l_o_g_i_n

  15.           +o The user can start entering the login name before the
  16.             account images appears. Key strokes may not echo but
  17.             they are read, so login can be completed before all
  18.             images appear.

  22.           +o The Disk tasks should not be run while fx or dvhtool is
  23.             also running.

  32.           +o The system administration tools do not recognize DOS or
  33.             Macintosh hard drives (they do recognize DOS and
  34.             Macintosh removable media devices).  A workaround is to
  35.             manually mount these hard drives.  See the mkfp(1M) and
  36.             mount(1M) man pages for details.

  38.        4.5  _I_S_D_N

  40.           +o ISDN line status should not be used remotely.  In a
  41.             remote login session, the ISDN line status window is
  42.             displayed on the remote window rather than the local
  43.             window. So ISDN line status should only be used
  44.             locally.

  46.        4.6  _P_P_P

  48.           +o The /etc/ppp.conf file uses '#' as the beginning of a
  49.             comment.  Anything after '#' is taken as comment. Since
  50.             '#' is also a valid character used by PPP, a '\' is
  51.             placed infront of '#' to distinguish the difference
  52.             between a comment and a real character. The PPP set up
  53.             tasks doesn't automatically insert '\' infront of '#'.
  54.             The user should enter the '\' when using the
  55.             configuration task, e.g., 'my#name' should be entered
  56.             as 'my\#name'.

  74.        4.7  _C_h_a_n_g_e__P_e_r_m_i_s_s_i_o_n_s

  76.           +o The Change Permissions tool will only display NIS user
  77.             names for users that are explicitly listed in
  78.             /etc/passwd in an entry such as your system using the
  79.             plus sign ('+') on a line by itself will not add any
  80.             users to the Users menu in the Change Permissions tool.
  81.             This problem has been assigned bug #556030 in Silicon
  82.             Graphics' internal bug tracking system.

  84.           +o If there is a large number of users on the system, the
  85.             Users menu can become so long that some entries are not
  86.             visible or selectable with the mouse.  This problem has
  87.             been assigned bug #534666 in Silicon Graphics' internal
  88.             bug tracking system.

  90.        4.8  _S_y_s_t_e_m__M_a_n_a_g_e_r

  92.           +o If the colormap is full when System Manager is
  93.             launched, the category links (Overview, About this
  94.             System, etc.) on the left hand side are invisible
  95.             (white on a white background).  The links are still
  96.             active.  If you encounter this problem, you should
  97.             close System Manager and at least one other colormap-
  98.             intensive application (e.g. Netscape and FrameMaker)
  99.             and then restart System Manager.  This problem has been
  100.             assigned bug #553084 in Silicon Graphics' internal bug
  101.             tracking system.

  103.        4.9  _E_Z_s_e_t_u_p
  104.  
  105.           +o Clicking multiple times on buttons that launch the
  106.             Secure System, Network Setup or Add User tasks results
  107.             in an error dialog advising the user to contact their
  108.             system administrator. This dialog box is not necessary
  109.             and should be ignored. (SCR 562450)

  111.           +o Under certain conditions, exit from EZSetup will result
  112.             in an error dialog being displayed that says
  113.             "CGIOutput2.html not found."  This dialog box is not
  114.             necessary and should be ignored. (SCR 572507)
